Last November the IAEM-USA Board approved the proposal for a Hospitals and Healthcare Caucus, similar to the Universities and Colleges Caucus. The purpose of the IAEM Healthcare Caucus is to promote issues specific to Emergency Management as it relates to hospitals and healthcare. We have established a Google Group called IAEM Healthcare. We have completed a salary survey through the Google Group. We will also be working on developing Core Competencies for Healthcare Emergency Management. The Group has seen very lively conversation recently on the use of hospital codes!
Jennifer Lord, current DMM student has been named the Region 1 Representative and Robert "Buzz" Buzzerd, a recent DMM graduate has been named the Region 2 Representative.

We will be holding a semi-annual meeting National Conference (including a conference call bridge) on Sunday November 1, time to be announced via the Google Group. We look forward to you joining us to further the interests of emergency management in healthcare!
