January 26th we will have a chat at 2000 hours (8:00 p.m. Eastern Time) entitled "Practical Applications of the FEMA Individual Assistance and Public Assistance Programs".

In this capacity he has coordinated the county’s response to 11 Federal disaster declarations including the 1993 Midwest floods and tornadoes, the 2010 winter storms and the Missouri River Flood of 2011. He holds a Masters in Security Management from Bellevue University and has earned the coveted designations of Certified in Emergency Management, (CEM) from the International Association of Emergency Managers and Certified in Homeland Security (CHS-V) from the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security. Bill says "I will be discussing the FEMA Public and Individual Assistance programs for the Great Missouri River Flood of 2011 from the perspective of a single rural/suburban county. I will give an overview of the incident tying in the FEMA response as it occurred along the incident timeline. I hope this will be of interest to your students who have not had the fun of working a FEMA declared disaster and to those students who have but have not worked an incident where the response phase lasted almost four months."
