New Resource and Website

From US Department of Health and Human Services

New resource and web site: Chemical Hazards Emergency Medical Management (CHEMM) website http://chemm.nlm.nih.gov/index.html

What are the goals of this site?
• Enable first responders, first receivers, other healthcare providers, and planners to plan for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of mass-casualty incidents involving chemicals
• Provide a comprehensive, user-friendly, web-based resource that is also downloadable in advance, so that it would be available during an event if the internet is not accessible

Virtual Conference Aims to Unite CBRNe Professionals Across North America and Worldwide

The CBRN Resource Network announced today that it will be holding The CBRNe Enterprise New and Emerging Technologies Exposition, the first in a series of virtual conferences on September 21st from 10am-6pm EST.

The conference will be part of its ongoing mission to create a better platform for product discovery within the CBRNe responder community. This online gathering of industry experts, seasoned CBRNe responders, and companies representing the newest technologies in the "All-Hazards" space will represent a revolutionary shift in information sharing. The CBRNe Enterprise New and Emerging Technologies Exposition will have a schedule of live speakers that will allow attendees to listen to presentations, watch product demonstrations, walk a lifelike tradeshow floor, and interact with industry representatives in real time. It will provide an unprecedented opportunity to collect information, network, pose questions to fellow CBRNe colleagues, and listen to targeted presentations. Admission to the conference will be free and accessible worldwide from the comfort of any computer.

"An event like this is long overdue," said Retired Lieutenant Colonel Robert Domenici, CEO of the CBRN Resource Network. "It is growing increasingly difficult to get all the key decision makers together on a consistent basis."
Domenici, one of the original National Guard Civil Support Team (CST-WMD) commanders out of New York, alluded to the fact that a virtual meeting and education platform such as this was born out of necessity. He points to drastically reduced information sharing opportunities and training budgets as the major catalysts for the virtual conference series. "My goals for providing a robust product discovery tool on the CBRN Resource Network are the same for these virtual conferences we will be hosting. The CBRNe community needs to find a better way to communicate with the industry. The Internet is the best way to do that and we are saving both sides significant amount of time and money in the process."

The majority of key organizations involved in homeland security and CBRNe-related protection, detection and defense will be in attendance, as will state, county, and municipal responders, procurement personnel, and preparedness coordinators. The result will be the bringing together of key purchasing influencers and CBRNe manufacturers, while eliminating the need for travel.
